Hooray for cute puppies! We haven’t had much snow either up till the last few days. Now it’s freezing cold and just plain icky outside, although our dog loves it! She frolics every time she goes out.

I have been spending the winter looking at paint swatches and contemplating garden layouts. Can’t wait for spring! What about you?

Don’t worry, Puff is around forever! Crate training not so much, baby gates in the kitchen instead. He’s doing really well at training, puppies are the best!

You give me hope, because we bought a 1920s brick house with hardwood floors under the carpet, too. I just found this blog and saw your floor pictures and thought “That looks a lot like our floors!” It’s good to know that with a little bit of sanding, yours came out so nicely. Do you know what kind of wood they are? I think ours are oak and they are very thick but also very old (almost 90 years). I’m hoping they sand down that nicely!

we didn’t have heat. Our fireplace needs to be repaired before we can use it, and we didn’t have anything else. It was SO COLD.

Love chair rails in hallways- and that last painting! Everything is so print-y these days, it’s rare to see actual brush-stroke paintings.
